How Copyhood works
A practical guide to scanning public token data and launching a separate market on Robinhood Chain.
Updated July 17, 2026
01
How Copy Launch works
Copyhood reads the public metadata of an existing Solana token - including its name, symbol, description, image, and links - and prepares it for a separate new token on Robinhood Chain through a supported launcher.
The new token starts from zero. Existing holders, balances, liquidity, price history, and market capitalization are never transferred.
02
Not a bridge or migration
- A bridge moves value between chains. Copyhood does not move value.
- A migration converts old tokens into new ones. Copyhood converts nothing.
- Copyhood is not an exchange, custodian, or brokerage listing service.
- Your wallet sends the launch transaction directly to the selected launcher.
03
Fees and custody
- The Copyhood interface is free to use.
- You pay the launcher creation fee read from the factory before launch.
- You pay Robinhood Chain gas and any optional initial buy.
- Copyhood never holds keys or funds and never signs for you.
04
Wallet support
EVM wallets are discovered with EIP-6963, allowing installed wallets such as MetaMask, Phantom, Rabby, and Coinbase Wallet to connect without loading WalletConnect at startup. Solana authority signing is loaded only when a launch requires it.
05
Risks
- Blockchain transactions are irreversible and a reverted launch can consume gas.
- Launcher fees and parameters can change between visits.
- Public market data may be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable.
- Source-launcher detection is a heuristic, not a confirmed fact.
- You must have the right to reuse any imported branding or metadata.
06
Free-tier data limits
- Scans use server-side validation, request deduplication, cooldowns, and caching.
- Holder counts may be unavailable and are labeled clearly when missing.
- DEX Screener failures never block a metadata scan.
- Recent scans and launch context remain in browser storage; there is no database.
07
Current limitations
- CopyHood Partner provides the native launch flow on Robinhood Chain.
- The Launch tab creates an original token from metadata supplied by the user.
- Other launcher cards open third-party websites and do not execute inside CopyHood.
- Production launch requires a safe, reachable original metadata URI.
- Copyhood never uploads or invents replacement metadata.
- Demo Mode uses labeled fixture data and submits no blockchain transaction.
